Tian-guan is usually shown standing and holding a scroll with the inscription "The Ruler of Heaven bestows good fortune", and for that reason he is venerated as a god of good fortune.

Tian-guan
The Ruler of Heaven and one of the three rulers, the San-guan. He bestows wealth and good luck. All three rulers keep a register of the good and evil deed of people.
