Telipinu

by Micha F. Lindemans
An ancient Anatolian (Hattic) vegetation-god, son of Taru. He brings rain and controls thunder and lightning. He causes plants to grow and confers fertility upon man and animals. Occasionally, when he is angry or piqued, he quits the assembly of the gods. When this happens, all life in heaven and on earth comes to a standstill.

The pinu component in his name means 'son' or 'child'.
