The spirit, or the soul, of the individual. After death it separates from the body and begins its journey to the sky home of the Great Spirit Heammawihio. Before it can reach its destination, the tasoom has to travel along the Ekutsihimmiyo, the "Hanging Road" (the Milky Way) that is suspended between heaven and earth.
