The serpentine creator god of Fiji. He creates earthquakes by shifting and turning in his cave deep inside a mountain. He hatched the bird's egg from which humans emerged. His flesh is made of stone. Ndengei is the chief of the kalou-vu, the 'root gods', the indigenous pantheon of the Fiji islands.
