Mae Phra Khongkha
The Thai goddess of the waters, rivers, streams, and canals. Her annual festival is Loi Krathong, held on the full moon in the 12th lunar month (November). According to legend, when a boy and a girl launch a krathong (a little lotus-shaped boat carrying a candle, incense sticks and a coin) together they will be lovers either in this life or in the next.
The name of Khongkha is etymologically related to the Indian word Ganges.
