La Llorona

by Micha F. Lindemans
La Llorona, the Crying Woman, is a Hispanic bogeywoman, the ghost of a woman who had murdered her own children. She now haunts by water and haunts men who drink or run around on their wives (for it was a man who caused her to slay her offspring). She is said to weep blood (or black tears) from empty eye sockets and feeds on children's terror.
