A malevolent creature from Northeast Anatolian Pontic folklore (Turk [Greek descent], Laz, Hemsheen), a variant of the bogeyman. Some are troublesome but rather harmless, yet others are truly evil. He has thick hairy fur. The name probably comes from Greek Kalikantzaris.
