The Persian name for Yima. In Iranian mythology, the first man, how became sovereign of the abode of the blessed. Jamshid as a culture hero, he introduced the cult of vine and other arts to mankind, appears in the Shahnamah. He is supposed to have reigned for seven hundred years.
