Illujanka
In Hittite myth (Asia Minor), Illujanka is a snake-demon who is crushed to death by the weather-god, symbolizing the beginning of a new era. This myth was read on New Year's Day and shows many similarities with the myths of
Baal and
Leviathan, and Zeus and
Typhon.
