2. The daughter of Iphis and wife of Capaneus. When Capaneus was killed at the siege of Thebes -- he was struck by a lightning bolt -- she threw herself on his funeral pyre and perished ¹.

¹. This act is unique in Greek legend and is somewhat doubtful. The bodies of persons slain by lightning were not burned but buried where they fell.
