by Micha F. Lindemans
A Sumerian spirit, used to denote the wraiths of the departed. The "evil edimmu" was apparently regarded as attacking the middle part of a man. It is generally, but incorrectly, read as êkimmu, which is translated "the seizer," from êkemu, "to seize."
