In Toraja belief, the mountain which the soul has to climb in order to enter heaven. It is said to lie to the west of Puya, the "land of souls." When the soul enters heaven, it will become a deata, a deified ancestor, and will look after and guard over its descendants. They can call upon the deata for help, particularly during the rice harvest.
