In the Qur'an, Al Araf is a region between paradise and hell (Jahannan) reserved for those who are neither morally good nor bad, such as infants and lunatics. Also, those whose good and evil deeds were equally balanced can await here their ultimate admission to heaven. It is similar to limbo.
