Ahuizotle
A mythical beast of the Zuni and Hopi peoples. The creature, about the size of a dog, roamed the banks of rivers. It hads the cry of a human baby but should anyone approach to investigate, it would grab them by a monkey-like hand at the end of its long, prehensile tail. The corpse would be found three days later, minus the eyes, teeth, and nails -- the favorite tidbits of the Ahuizotle.
