Adur

by Olga Gomez
In Basque mythology, it is the name given to the mystical, transcendental force or power that unites all real objects. Thus, they are all related to each other. Adur also links an object to its name, its image and its symbol. This is the base of all Basque animism and magic. If you want to affect an object or a person, either positively or negatively, you can use its name or another object (candle, puppet, face of a coin) that represents it. The Basque say that "all that has a name really exists".
